When an actress fights or develop misunderstanding with a director, the Nadigar Sangam would usually support the actress and condemn the director. Like-wise, the Directors’ Association would invariably support the director irrespective of whether he was on the side of justice or not. However, in Manisha Yadav’s case, the Nadigar Sangam has come down hard on the actress forcing her to retract her earlier statement.
Though Manisha didn’t directly accuse director Seenu Ramasamy of harassing her sexually, she did manage to spread news close to such an incident thanks to her friends among the journalist fraternity. Seenu has issued denials ever since her allegations appeared in the print media. Seenu maintained that she hadn’t been ousted from Idam Porul Eval and that she had only been offered the second heroine’s role.
The Sangam and the Association reportedly summoned Manisha and told her not to provide fodder to the press which hadn’t been writing positive things about actors, actresses and the film industry. “Already the press hasn’t been saying good things about film-industry professionals,” was what she was told by them.
Calling newspersons, Manisha narrated a different episode of what happened during the shoot of Idam Porul Eval in Kodaikkanal. “I was first offered the heroine’s role opposite Vijay Sethupathi; however, Seenu then told me to essay the role of second heroine opposite Vishnu. Moreover, the chilly climate of Kodaikkanal didn’t suit me and that’s why I exited from the film on my own terms and returned to Chennai,” Manisha has said.
