Yuvan Shankar Raja opts out of Dayanidhi Azhagiri’s Vadacurry

An upcoming film Vadacurry which brings together Jai and Swati Reddy, the hit pair of the super-duper hit Subramaniapuram, has hogged the limelight for all the wrong reasons. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who was signed up to socre the music of the film and had even recorded a song, has now opted out of the film citing his ‘busy schedule’.

Vadacurry also has RJ Balaji, Kasthuri, Misha Ghoshal and Aruldoss in prominent roles and the film has come to be expected with interest thanks to the sizzling presence of Sunny Leone, the pornstar-turned-actress, who has danced for an ‘item number’ in the film. Bollywood had already rolled out a red-carpet to the Canada-born Sunny Leone and it seems that Kollywood might follow suit.

Dayanidhi Azhagiri, the producer of Vadacurry, has announcd that the duo of Vivek Shiva and Mervin Solomon, who had been working as sound engineers with music director Anirudh Ravichander, would replace Yuvan Shankar Raja as the music-directors of the film. The song composed by Yuvan would be used up in the film, it has been informed.

In his statement, Dayanidhi has said: “Due to Yuvan’s busy schedule, he is not able to continue his stint with us. However, we would use in the film an extremely melodious number composed and recorded by him. In order to complete the film within the planned schedule, we have signed up the duo of Vivek Shiva and Mervin Solmon, who were sound engineers under Anirudh Ravichander, to score the music of Vadacurry.

“The duo has composed four songs besides the background music. Both are from Chennai and I’m sure the experience of having worked under the likes of Anirudh and A.R. Rahman would stand them in good stead,” the statement concluded.
