Angel Tamanna yearns to play negative roles

Tamanna, the actress with an hourglass figure coupled with an angel-like face, has expressed her willingness to take on divergent roles such as roles with lots of shades of grey.

In her second stint in Tamil films now, Tamanna has paired up opposite almost all the leading heroes in Tamil including the likes of Ajith, Suriya, Vijay, Dhanush and ‘Jayam’ Ravi. After starring in Dhanush’s Venghai more than three years back, the actress suddenly disappeared from Kollywood and started doing more Telugu and Hindi films and it was even feared that she might not return to Kollywood.

Director Siva of Siruthai fame, however, signed up his favourite heroine Tamanna as Ajith’s on-screen pair in his Veeram which hit the screens on 10th January this year. The film, which tasted reasonable success at the box-office, also marked Tamanna’s return to Kollywood thereby making lakh of fans of the actress breathe easily.

She has been getting many offers post the success of Veeram but has been selective in her choice of roles. Tamanna is said to be telling film-makers who come to sign her up in their films to offer a full-fledged negative character to her. Tamanna’s wish follows a similar desire expressed by Trisha who had said a few days back that she wanted to take on negative roles.

It may be noted that Tamanna essayed a negative role in her debut Tamil film Kedi which released in 2006 and had Ravikrishna and Ileana as the lead-pair. It appears that she hasn’t come out of the ‘impact’ of the kind of role she essayed long back
