Sources close to superstar Rajinikanth say that the ‘man of the masses’ has decided to adapt a ‘neutral’ stance during the Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held in the State on 24th April. Rajini is unlikely to raise his voice for or against any particular political outfit, it is reliably learnt.
As it always happens during parliamentary/assembly elections, Rajini’s fans have been urging their matinee idol to indulge in active politics through their messages via phone and letters besides holding meetings of the Rajini Fans’ Clubs and passing resolutions to this effect. The fans were hoping badly that Rajini would take a firm decision (on joining politics) this time.
Rajini was apprised of the mood of his fans and the details of the resolutions passed at the Fans’ Club meetings. Rajini, incidentally, remains a common friend to leaders of the major political parties in the State. Rajini is said to be maintaining cordial relations with all these leaders in order to ensure that his fans in the respective parties feel happy and also to send home a strong message that he would always remain unbiased.
Even UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi had sent a birthday message during Rajini’s birthday last December. Rajini has, therefore, decided to remain neutral for the time being and is said to have sent messages to his fans that if they wished, they could indulge in politics/election work for a party of their choice.
