Sivakarthikeyan, hero of the upcoming film Maan Karate, has said that he hae never drunk liquor nor smoked cigars in his life so far.
Sivakarthikeyan, whose films invariably would have him sipping liquor at the bar, was the most successful hero last year as three of his films – Kedi Billa Killadi Ramga, Ethir Neechal and Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam – turned out to be super-duper hits. This year, he is expecting his first release in the form of Maan Karate, which is also his first film opposite a top heroine.
Even Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam had a song in the backdrop of a TASMAC bar. He was speaking to newsmen during the recently-held audio launch of Maan Karate. Scribes asked him as to whether it was proper for him to star in smoking/drinking sequences.
In his reply, Sivakarthikeyan said “I have never drunk liquor nor smoked in real-life; however, when the director asks me to star in such sequences for the film, I am not a big star to tell him that I won’t be starring in such sequences. However, I shall try to ensure that my successive films don’t feature smoking/drinking sequence. Taana, my next film, won’t have any such sequences!”
