Prakash Raj happy with success of Kannada version of Un Samayal Araiyil
Prakash Raj is very happy that Oggarane (Kannada version of Un Samayal Araiyil) has been doing very well at the box-office. Directed and co-produced by Prakash Raj, Un Samayal Araiyil released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada versions a couple of weeks back.
Remake of the Malayalam hit film Salt N’ Pepper, Un Samayal Araiyil has Prakash Raj in the lead role opposite Sneha, who hasn’t been seen in Tamil films for a long time now. Urvashi has also essayed a prominent role in the film whose USP is music by Maestro Ilaiyaraaja. Thambi Ramaiah and Vidyullekha Raman are also part of the cast.
Though the film’s Tamil and Telugu versions have turned out to be only average grosser at the box-office, the film has courted huge success in Kannada. Prakash Raj, who made the film simultaneously in three languages, had Ilaiyaraaja’s music in all the three versions and is very happy that Oggarane has turned out to be a super-duper hit.
Sandalwood press has lauded the film which is sans obscene sequences or double-meaning dialogues. The film has been doing well in multiplexes in cities as well as in theatres in rural localities. “Yes, I know that the film has been doing normally in Tamil and Telugu but I believe it would ‘pick up’ in the next week; meanwhile, I’m happy that the Kannada version has turned out to be a huge hit,” says Prakash Raj.
