Jai Akash plays dual roles in Kadhalukku Kannillai

Sadly enough, one of the most handsome heroes in Tamil film industry is one of those heroes who aren’t being courted by producers and directors at regular intervals. Jai Akash, who produces, directs and plays the lead role in films, is back with his next venture titled as Kadhalukku Kannillai which has him essaying dual roles. He has also directed the film. The film’s introductory event was held in Chennai two days back.

Jai plays the father and the son in the film and appears in aged get up while essaying the father’s role. Alisha Das and Nisha play the heroines opposite him. Others who play prominent roles in the film include Indu, Lalithya, Prabhakaran, Madhanan, Jai Ramesh, Vasanthakumar and Rambabu. The film has music composed jointly by U.K. Murali and Gautham.

“The script is about a woman who is enticed into a love affair by an youth. She bears his child but is ditched by him. She struggles hard to bring his child up; whether or not her son grows up to take avenge for the humiliation suffered by his mother forms the rest of the story,” says Akash and adds that the film has exclusive chasing and stunt sequences filmed using high-speed cameras.

The shoot has been held widely at Pondicherry, Ooty, Hyderabad and Chennai. S.P. Balasubramanyam, Prasanna, Harish Raghavender, Balaji and Prabhakaran have sung the songs in the film which has been cinematographed by Devaraj. The post-production work is almost complete now and the makers are aiming to release the film in cinemas in the first week of May. The music would be released some time in April.
