Udhayanidhi, son of DMK treasurer and former chief-minister of Tamil Nadu and grandson of DMK patriarch Karunanidhi, has said that he wasn’t interested in pursuing a career in politics.
Producer-turned-actor Udhayanidhi was campaigning for the DMK’s Nilgiris candidate and scam-tainted former Union Telecom minister A. Raja. Udhayanidhi accompanied Stalin who has been campaigning throughout the State for the success of the party’s candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to newsmen, Udhayanidhi said “I have been accompanying my father to all his election meetings ever since I was 11 years old. However, I am not at all interested in pursuing a career in politics. I only want to improve as an actor and entertain the audiences. I’m presently starring in Nanbenda which has Santhanam in a prominent role. I have a good rapport with Santhanam and I appeal to my friends in the press not to write or say anything which might adversely affect our relationship.
“I know that I can’t do action hero’s roles and am choosy about the scripts I do. I am producing Nanbenda. I tried to correct my acting to a great extent in Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal where I performed slightly better than what I did in Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. In my future films, I shall continue to improve,” concluded Udhayanidh
