Manorama’s condition is stable

Doctors attending to ‘Aachi’ Manorama, the Guinness-record holder who has starred in more than 1,000 films, say that the 70-year old actress has shown vast improvement in her health.

Manorama complained of breathing trouble and heart-ache on Monday after which she was rushed to a leading private hospital in the heart of Chennai. She was admitted to the ICU ward in the hospital and was even put on artificial respiration. She was in a critical state at the time of her admission, doctors say.

After a prolonged struggle by the doctors, there was significant improvement in Manorama’s health condition but she continues to be kept in the ICU ward. Hospital sources say that she is likely to remain at the hospital for a few more days.

It may be recalled that Manorama underwent surgery in her knees and was also suffering from various other ailments. After a long hiatus, she starred in last year’s Singam II and then didn’t commit herself to starring in any film.

Let’s pray to the Almighty that our Aachi gets well as soon as possible and is back in action to doing what she loves best: acting!
